Head Coach: Ezra Simmons

Coach Simmons is proud to be the Head Coach of the Rollins College Football Team.  Coach Simmons played collegiately at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.  He also served on the coaching staff at Tulane.

Coach Simmons coached at the High School level in New Orleans at De La Salle High School and Crescent City Baptist High School.  At De La Salle Coach Simmons worked with the Quarterbacks, Running Backs and Wide Receivers.  While at De La Salle he developed Quarterbacks that went on to play at Mississippi State, Delta state, Tulane and Arkansas State.  Coach Simmons was the Head Coach at Crescent City Baptist High School and brought respectability back to a moribund program.

Coach Simmons has had the opportunity to coach under and learn from Buddy Teevens (Current Head Coach at Dartmouth, former Head Coach at Stanford, Tulane and Maine, as well as Passing Game Coordinator for Steve Spurrier at UF) and Gwaine Mathews (former Head Coach at University of Arkansas-Monticello and Defensive Coordinator for the National Champions Delta State.) In addition Coach Simmons had the honor of coaching at various Quarterback camps, working with some of the best Quarterbacks in the country.

In addition to his Head Coaching duties Coach Simmons will serve as the Offensive Coordinator. 

Coach Simmons possesses both a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Tulane University.

Coach Simmons is married to Summer Lynn Simmons and has a two year old son, Asher, whom he hopes to coach as a member of the Rollins college Football Team, and a newborn daughter, Maya.

Woody Cox - Defensive Coordinator/Offensive Line

Coach Cox will serve as the Defensive Coordinator/Offensive Line coach for the Rollins College Football Team.

Coach Cox has coached in Orlando at Edgewater High School  and Olympia High School.  In addition he served as Assistant Offensive Line Coach for the UFL's Orlando Tuskers.

Greg Hoblick - Wide Receivers/Defensive Backs

Coach Hoblick graduated from Rollins College in 2005.  He was a receiver at Winter Park high School and went on to play at Hampden-Sydney College before transferring to Rollins.  Coach Hoblick was the Wide Receivers Coach at Winter Park High School  from '07 - '09.

Charles Friedley - Linebackers

Coach Charles Friedley graduated from Western Kentucky, where he played linebacker.  His first coaching experiences were in  Kentucky, coaching JV basketball in Auburn and starting the football program in Butler  County.  He came to Orlando in 1968 and coached swimming and football at Evans  High School, having the first winning swim team at the school and the first winning football team as defensive coordinator.

When he came to Winter Park in 1971, Coach Friedley became head coach of JV football for three years during which time the team was JV Metro Champion every year with a record of 22-2-0.  He then coached varsity linebackers and was defensive coordinator of the Wildcats for 37 years for a total of 41 years coaching football, including the North South All Star Game.

Coach Friedley is married to Kathie Friedley and has my three daughters, Christine, Ellen, and Elizabeth, (all Winter Park HS graduates) as well as seven grandchildren.



Joshua Palmer - Defensive Backs/A & Y

Coach Palmer played quarter back and safety for Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating high school he served the community of Lansing as a Firefighter/EMT for 9.5 years before a back injury forced him to retire.

Coach Palmer has coached for 5 years. the last 2 at Waverly High School (Lansing, Michigan) coaching DB's, QB's, WR's, Special Teams, and Assistant Defensive Coordinator. He also coached the QB's and served as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator for the Capital City Stealth semi-pro team in Lansing.





JT Thomas - Strength and Conditioning

-Native of Orlando, FL and Graduate of Edgewater High School

-Played on the 2002 State Championship Team (Defensive End)

-Received a Full Athletic Scholarship in 2003 from Illinois State University

-Played Defensive Tackle and End

-4yr Letter Winner  (Football)

-BS in Recreational Mgmt.
